Contact Lens Fitting and Guidelines

A contact lens is a medical device as deemed by the FDA. A proper fitting and evaluation are necessary to ensure a healthy eye. A contact lens fitting involves the following procedure that will require several visits to complete.

Contact Lens Fitting Step-by-Step:

1. You and your Optometrist will discuss your need for contact lenses and the lens most suited to that need.
2. Eye measurements are then recorded, and a trial lens is chosen.
3. The trial lens is placed on the eye, assessed under the slit-lamp, and vision measurements are recorded.
4. Step 3 is repeated until a satisfactory fit is achieved.
5. Insertion and removal training and lens dispensing.
6. Follow-up and health evaluation.
