EHS provides surgical services through two eye specialty surgical centers:

New England Eye Surgical Center, Weymouth, MA
Cape Cod Eye Surgery Center, Sandwich, MA

The physicians of Eye Health Services pioneered the development of the first ophthalmology ambulatory surgery center in Massachusetts--New England Eye Surgical Center (NEE), located on Main Street in Weymouth, MA. NEE was also the first ophthalmic surgery center in New England to be Medicare certified.

Since 1985, the surgical center has performed over 5,000 surgical procedures on adults and children, each year. Additionally, the center is accredited by the Accreditation Association in Ambulatory Health Care.

Staffed by the ophthalmologists of EHS, an anesthesia and nursing team, and reception staff, NEE offers patients a warm, friendly, and comfortable environment in which to have all types of surgical procedures, from minor to the most complex.

All surgery is done on a same-day, outpatient basis, and every effort is made to ensure each patient’s comfort and convenience. Some of the most frequently performed procedures at NEE include:

Cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation
Cornea transplants
Laser surgery for treatment of glaucoma
Retinal surgery

All appointments for surgical procedures are coordinated by the EHS treating physician. New England Eye Surgical Center provides services, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 7:00 a.m. to noon.
